MITO FBS is a semiautomatic feeding bottle washer with an integrated filling system specially developed for small-size animal research laboratories. It grants the automatic emptying, washing, rinsing, and filling of 18 bottles per cycle, offering a complete reprocessing of bottles and caps with a low cost of ownership and the smallest footprint.
MITO FBS is a modular system and can be configured with multifunctional loading and unloading tables and accessories. High-quality stainless steel AISI 316L chamber guarantees long-term reliability and cleanliness. The independent washing and rinsing system, with disinfection by rinsing at 85°C / 185F, ensures optimal cleaning and disinfection.
Frictionless Organic Workflow
The system core of MITO FBS consists of a rotating system enabling automatic bottle emptying, washing, rinsing and filling in a frictionless organic workflow divided in four steps:
- filling system,
- top rinsing system,
- washing system, and
- bottom rinsing system.
The crate is automatically rotated of 180° for the discharge of the water left into the bottles. The bottles are sanitized through an internal and external rinse at 85°C. After a subsequent dripping phase, the crate is automatically turned in an upright position for the final filling stage. All the operations are automatically performed.
In-line System Solution
MITO FBS allows for an in-line system to better meet your needs. This specific solution shows a loading table with an ultrasonic bath equipped with a rinsing tap and a manual de-capper followed by a washing and filling machine and an unloading table for in-line operation. MITO Bottle Emptying station, with its stainless steel AISI 316 L top surface and sinks, serves as a loading table and can be equipped with rinsing taps and manual cap remover. MITO Bottle Dripping station serves as an unloading table. Its AISI 316 L stainless steel top surface – guaranteeing resistance and easy maintenance – slopes towards a central drain. Easy access to the lockable bottom storage.
Drinking water acidification unit option
Laboratory animal drinking water supplied to mice varies considerably from facility to facility, not only in microbial, minerals and organic content but also in water treatment. One of the most common and established treating method is to acidify the drinking water in order to reduce the bacteria’s presence in water bottles. Steelco drinking water acidification unit is designed to treat drinking water to be dispensed via bottles filling modules. Upon request, the acidification unit can be positioned near by the FBS working station or integrated within its side cabinet.

Microprocessor control system with RS232 port for external connection. LCD Display control panel, with up to 40 programs capacity.
